Axis 1 : Air pollution

The Air Pollution Axis was investigated through participatory research conducted in Eleusis, grounded in the lived experience of local residents and designed to generate material for artistic creation. On 7–8 July 2025, a combined sociodrama and bodystorming session took place in Eleusis, bringing together community members with diverse backgrounds to explore how air pollution is felt, perceived, and negotiated in everyday life. The process enabled participants to discuss a shared environmental issue through collective, embodied practice, fostering cultural engagement while capturing both emotional and physical responses to air pollution. The session also encouraged reflection on Eleusis’ industrial history and the environmental challenges it has produced. It concluded with participants sharing, in a single word, the feeling or sensation they were leaving the group with, offering a distilled emotional trace.
